Global smartphone making company LG
has recently launched yet another smartphone named Optimus G Pro in India. It supports full HD display, and the company is likely to take on Samsung’s well
popular Galaxy Note II with this
smartphone. LG Optimus Pro has a price tag of Rs. 42,500, and as per latest technology trends, this smartphone is
expected to do well in Indian market.
The phone features a large 5.5-inch IPS display screen with resolution
support of 1920*1080 pixels. It runs on popular Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
operating system, and is fully supported by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core
processor. The Optimus G Pro is backed up by a 3,140mAh battery, which is
pretty awesome indeed. It carries 1GB of RAM and total in-built memory of 32GB,
with the handy support of a microSD card.
The phone sports 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megpixel front
facing camera for self-clicking and video calling. The rear camera has the back
up of LED flash. The coolest feature of its camera is it supports dual
recording ability. It simply means a user will be able to record video using
both the camera at the very same time.
This smartphone features an advanced infrared sensor which will help a
user to control several functions of various other electronic gadgets and
devices such as set-top boxes, A.Cs, TVs etc. This new phone has the same QuadBeat
earphones, which was introduced with LG
Optimus G smartphone for the first time.
Soon Kwon, who is the present Managing Director of LG India, said, “The market size for 5-inch and above screens is expected to be
1.5 million units by end of 2013. Based on this insight, with Optimus G Pro we
have pushed the boundaries of computing and technological innovation to develop
a smartphone that caters to both business and lifestyle needs of today's
customers. We are confident that the smartphone will find a large following as
it sets a new benchmark with a perfect screen size of 5.5 -inch display that
provides an ultimate consumer experience."
LG is presently eying to hold at least 10% share of the overall Indian
smartphone market by the end of 2014. The company even announced that it has
allocated Rs. 80 crore fund in order to improve retail development and
marketing all over the country. This proves that Indian market is booming day
by day in this category, which is attracting global giants like LG, Sony, Apple and Samsung towards it.
In February 2013 the company launched its flagship smartphone Optimus G
with a price tag of Rs. 30,900 in order to take on the Samsung Galaxy S III,
and now it has come up with its new Optimus G Pro to challenge the Galaxy Note
II. LG has been launching quite a few latest smartphones in last few months
like Optimus L7 II Dual, L3 II Dual, L5 II Dual, L4 II Dual etc.
Mr. Kwon hinted that LG is currently working on developing several other
smartphones and tablets. The company is likely to unveil them by the end of
next year. It has to be added here that currently LG does not compete in the tablet market, but few months back
company’s Europe Vice President announced that it has a serious plan of
developing fully Android supported
tablets by the end of this running year only.
Final Words
LG Optimus G Pro is a great smartphone with lots of
attracting features. Its camera is one of the best of its kind, and its battery
