Flipkart’s Official Android App is now launched

This is a quick post to inform you all that the leading online retailer company Flipkart has recently launched an official Android app to make it easy for the users to access the site on their desired smartphones.

The users will be able to browse and purchase from Flipkart’s product catalogue from their own smartphones while using this new Android app. This app allows user to easily navigate through Flipkart's various product departments, which includes the trending products related to fashion, books, electronics and accessories, beauty and personal care, entertainment and toys and baby care.

That’s not all; the new app will also help the users to search for their desired products, brands, categories with the help of text based keywords and barcodes. Flipkart has even added voice search option in its Android app, which was unveiled just a few days back on the original website of the famous online retailer. Currently the voice search option has been offered to a few select users only.

The app simply helps to narrow the search of a user through helpful features like Sort and Filter. In simpler word users can sort products on terms of popularity, relevance, price (both low to high and high to low) and discounts. They can even filter the products through the brand, type, price, discount, availability and other key options.

While accessing the Flipkart Android app to check out the product listings, the users will be given options to study images of products and if needed zoom it see a more close-up look. The app also offers ratings and user reviews of the products. On the left of the screen there is a featured slider menu which displays other category-wise products. Users can also easily swipe to the left to explore the aftermath product in the same category.

The app is capable enough to showcase the details of recently browsed products even when the user’s phone is not connected to the Internet. This is a very good feature indeed, and will help a lot while analyzing a product before making the final decision of buying.

In addition to all of the above mentioned features the Flipkart Android app provides the option of placing orders and access different payment modes that includes cash on delivery, EMIs, Net Banking and credit/ debit cards. It lets users to track the status of their purchased items and check other important account variables.

This app also features social sharing option, and by using that users can easily share the links to interesting products with their respected friends via SMS, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Gmail and a few other services. You can download this app from the official Google Play Store.

The Flipkart Android App is currently very new in the market, and it includes several bugs which need to be resolved as soon as possible. I’ve tried this app on my personal phone, and I found it quite tough to add products to the cart as it was showing error. But the voice search option was working perfectly from my side, and trust me it was quite a fun for me. I think the bugs and errors are temporary, and very soon the Flipkart developers will resolve it to make the app more interesting.
