As we all know few months back Sony had unveiled two entry level smartphones, Xperia M and Xperia M Dual, especially for the mid-level smartphone loving
people. At the time of launch the company assured that these two phones would
be shipped into Indian market at 3rd quarter of current fiscal year.
It seems that the company is keeping its given promise and the much-awaited
Xperia M series phones are now listed online for pre-order for the Indian
users.
Today we will talk about the Sony Xperia M Dual which is surely one of
the best available entry level smartphones of the world. It is strategically
priced under Rs. 15,000 mark, and it might provide it an upper edge over its
nearest rivals in the Indian smartphone market.
Sony first announced the Xperia M Dual in June alongside its Single SIM
variant, the Xperia M, which is equally good in terms of features and quality.
The dual SIM variant is recently listed by India’s largest online retailer Flipkart for Rs. 14,490 (check it Here). However, the electronics major has not yet declared the availability
of the device in Indian region officially.
As per Flipkart’s listing, the Xperia M Dual should release in the first
week of October. The best part is the phone will get extra benefits of having
the launch time in the festive season in most of the parts of the country. It
might boost up the sales of this smartphone heavily. Presently the phone is
available in three color variant, White, Black and Purple.
The Sony Xperia M Dual sports a 4-inch TFT LCD display which offers fair
screen resolution of 480*854 pixels. It also includes a scratch-resistant
display to drastically enhance the overall protection of the main screen. It is
powered by 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227 processor while running on
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS with Sony's very own Timescape UI on top. It carries 1GB
of RAM and obviously features dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support.
This device is also having internal storage of 4GB, and this can be
further expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. It has a 5-megapixel LED flash
enabled rear shooter and a VGA front facing camera for video calling. It also
offers some most advanced connectivity mediums such as Bluetooth 4.0, aGPS,
NFC, Wi-Fi and 3G. It is backed up by a 1,750mAh battery, which can deliver up
to 10 hours of talk time and up to 498 hours of standby time on 2G networks, as
per company’s claim.

Wrap Up
Sony Xperia M Dual is indeed a value addition in the current
list of entry level smartphones in India. It is beautifully designed and having
a good processor and very strong battery backup. Its camera quality is not that
bad either and it has scratch resistant display facility too. It also has
several most advanced connectivity options in the likes of NFC and aGPS. In my
view it should be listed among the top 5
smartphones in India under Rs. 15,000 list.
