Apple Unveils ‘iTunes Radio’ along with iOS 7

Apple launched iTunes Radio Service to take on poplar streaming music providers like Pandora.
Apparently the most valuable company of the world Apple has recently launched its mostly awaited iTunes Radio Service to take on poplar streaming music providers like Pandora and Spotify. The father figure and maker of the iPhone Apple launched it in the annual WWDC event in San Francisco.

It was expected that Apple would name the service as iRadio, but eventually it didn’t happen. Apple eventually published an official statement in its annual developers conference event. In the statement it said that the internet music service would cost nothing at all. iTunes Radio comprises the feature of more than 200 stations. According to the statement it also has an incredible catalog of music from the official iTunes store.

It has to be mentioned here that the said music service is expected to be available for the users later this year, and it will be ad-supported and free.


As quoted by Apple in its statement, “It offers music fans access to thousands of new songs every week, as well as serving up exclusive music from new and popular artists before you hear them anywhere else."

Another key fact of this topic is that Apple will integrate iTunes Radio Service with its own voice-assistant software mechanism/programme Siri. With the good effects of this integration users of this service will be able to find out the details like ‘Who plays that song?’ or even as the program itself to ‘Play more like this.’


Mr. Eddy Cue, who is currently handling the post of senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services at Apple, also expressed his joy while saying that it would be a value addition for his company. He also mentioned that this service will be able to entertain the consumers in a very good way. While addressing the fans and followers of Apple he said,

“iTunes Radio is an incredible way to listen to personalized radio stations which have been created just for you. It's the music you love most and the music you're going to love, and you can easily buy it from the iTunes Store with just one click”

Apple was in the news of all over the web for last two days due to the announcements which it made officially in its annual developers conference in San Francisco. The event was closely followed by millions of people. Some of them were extremely happy while the company revamped its upcoming iOS 7 in the meet.

Apple’s iOS 7 received a mixed reaction in past two days. Some are saying that it is a revolutionary update and it will carry forward the company’s glory to one step forward but some has been criticizing it as well. According to those critics this new operating system is not appealing at all, and some of its key features are just the ‘copy of the android’.

In the executives meet Apple also showcased a new series of Mac computers and declared that its own voice software Siri, which is currently available on the iPhone, now incorporates one of the leading search engines Bing that is owned by Microsoft itself.

Apple’s new tablet and smartphone platform iOS 7 was designed by Jony Ive. This new platform has a new look completely different from its previous versions. It actually uses translucency to showcase the contents that are underlying. It has new icons and new typefaces too. As per some market experts and sources close to Apple, the company is thinking of launching iOS 7 for the users quite soon apparently in the current running year itself.
