The long wait is now over, as the South Korean based global smartphone maker Samsung has finally launched Galaxy S4 Mini in India with a price tag of Rs. 27,990. Many Samsung lovers have been waiting for it quite eagerly.
Galaxy S4 Mini is basically a fully compact version of company’s current flagship smartphone Galaxy S4, which was launched at a huge gala event on March 14 of this year. The S4 Mini is a premium mid-range smartphone, and it is completely based on the same design language of its superior version.
The Galaxy S4 Mini has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED touchscreen for display purposes, and it sports pixel density of 256 ppi. It also has 8 mega-pixel rear facing camera and 1.9-megapixel front facing camera (HD). The great inclusion is that its camera supports some cool features like Sound&Shot.
It is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor along with the support of 1.5GB of RAM. It also features internal storage of 8 GB in which 5GB can fully be accessed by its users. The best part is the internal storage is fully expandable up to 64GB with the help of any microSD cards. It is running on the popular Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system with Samsung's very own TouchWiz Nature UX layer on top.
The Galaxy S4 Mini is backed up by a 1,900mAh battery, and it will be offered in two different color variants in India, which are Black Mist and White Frost. It is also compatible with awesome features like S Translator, S Health, and Multiplayer Game feature that we have already seen in Samsung’s Galaxy S4. Now the main discussion point is that whether Samsung has priced it right or not. It has some really cool features, a strong support, trust of a reputed brand, and many more. But the fact is a buyer can easily go for quad-core processor enabled smartphones with much bigger screens at around same price zone. Smartphone makers like HTC, LG has been offering gadgets like HTC One X, LG Optimus G for this purpose. Even Samsung’s own Galaxy SIII fits into it.

We think Galaxy S4 Mini has been over priced, and it will be tough for it to score good numbers in terms of profits in Indian market. We are quite sure that Samsung will be offering some really cool added benefits with the purchase of this mid-range smartphone. But will that be enough? Time will tell.
