BlackBerry Q5 Price and Key Specifications in India

BlackBerry launched its latest smartphone BlackBerry Q5 in India with a price tag of Rs. 24,999.
Worldwide smartphone making company BlackBerry has recently launched its new product the BlackBerry Q5 in India with a price tag of Rs. 24,999. The company is trying its level best to make a strong grip over the Indian smartphone market.

The BlackBerry Q5 features the company’s trademark QWERTY keyboard, and it will be running on the newly-released BlackBerry 10.1 operating system. In May 2013, the company introduced this latest smartphone at the BlackBerry Live Conference.

The Q5 has a 3.1-inch long touchscreen which offers display resolution of 720*720 pixels. It will not support full HD view, and it is having an IPS LCD screen. It has to be added here that the company’s current flagship device BlackBerry Q10 sports a Super AMOLED screen.

In June 2013, BlackBerry launched its flagship phone Q10 in India to push forward its ongoing comeback procedure. Now the company has come up with yet another QWERTY-enabled front-running smartphone. The expectations are much higher this time, as the Q10 is not trending that much in India.

The BlackBerry Q5 is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, which helps a user to enjoy a super cool experience while accessing the new gadget. The phone features a solid 2GB of RAM and a huge 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by up to 32GB with the small help of a microSD card.

The phone is backed up by a decent 2,180mAh battery, and it is also having dual camera facility. The Q5 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera for video calling. Currently the phone is featuring three different color variants which are Pure White, Black and Pure Red & Pink. The global smartphone maker has officially confirmed that affordable EMI schemes will be offered for the BlackBerry Q5. You can buy it from Flipkart too (Click Here).

Currently BlackBerry is delivering both of its flagship smartphones Z10 and Q10 in India, but the company has been continuously criticized for over-pricing its smartphones by several market experts, blogs and websites. The company has recently started providing a useful exchange scheme to gear up the sales of the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. With the help of this scheme an interested buyer can avail discount up to Rs. 11,000 on purchase of a brand new Z10 in India.

Eventually few days back BlackBerry recorded an unexpected Q1 loss, and its comeback trail is now in serious doubts. The company has even launched EMI schemes for Z10 and BlackBerry Curve 9220 to push forward the sales of the phones.

Final Words

The BlackBerry Q5 is going to play a crucial role in the company’s overall come back scenario. I think it’s slightly over-priced, as now we can get full HD smartphones on much cheaper prices. We’ll have to wait for a month or so to study its market acceptance.
