IT Major TCS Bags Multi-million Deal from Bombardier

Indian IT major TCS has recently bagged a multi-million IT deal from Bombardier Transportation in Germany.
This diwali brings extra piece of joy for the IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as it has recently managed to bag an exclusive multi-million dollar deal from Bombardier Transportation, which is undoubtedly one of the leading rail vehicles makers.

From now on TCS has to manage the overall IT infrastructure of recently commissioned data centres of the Bombardier. The company has released an official statement to confirm the news of the deal. In that statement it said, "The multi-year, multi-million deal, is the first that TCS has signed with a rail-transportation technology provider."


However, both the parties are yet to reveal the financial details and other terms and conditions of the said deal. Bombardier Transportation is one of the best companies in the world in the market of rail transportation, and it is currently operating in more than 60 countries.

As per the basic norms of the signed contract, TCS will be liable to provide remote infrastructure management (RIM) of the recently established data centres of Bombardier Transportation in the states of Germany.

The TCS statement added that all the new data centres will set up a fully dedicated technology platform for Bombardier, in the form of introduction of private cloud services along with an optimum level of virtualization.

Bombardier Transportation will also receive SAP Basis support from the TCS, and this deal is likely to benefit both the parties in coming days.

Mr. Thomas Leidenbach, who is the current Vice President of Bombardier Transportation, said the following while acknowledging the deal publicly.

"India is central to Bombardier's Information Services strategy. Our relationship with TCS offers operational excellence in markets around the world."

Mr. Vice President looked quite happy indeed, and he also said a few key things about the deals and future benefits of this collaboration.

Mr. Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, who is the Head of Central Europe at TCS, also expressed his own views about this multi-million IT deal. He said, "This is a strategic step forward for TCS as it establishes us as a partner of choice for infrastructure services in the German market."

It’s worth mentioning that TCS' Central Europe operations, which is basically an key operating area cutting across the countries like Austria and Germany, now comprise more than 4,000 IT professionals. It is currently providing exclusive services to over 80 top level Austrian and German companies like Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank etc. It also helps several mid size companies to grow fast.
