Amazon Seller Services Private Limited, which is basically a business
wing of the Amazon.Com
multi-national company, finally announced the mega launch of a fully complete online marketplace in India. The web
address of this online marketplace is www.Amazon.In.
The company said that this brand new online marketplace will offer
various ranges of products starting from movies, books, videos of popular TV
shows etc. It will also introduce some extra categories to include featuring
products like cameras, mobile phones, and digitals in the upcoming weeks, the
company added.
Mr. Greg Greeley, who is the current Vice President of International
Expansion at Amazon.Com, said a few things at the time of launch. In his speech
he highlighted the importance, and the vision of his company. Below is a small
excerpt of what he actually said in his speech on the launch of Amazon’s online
marketplace in India.
"We're
excited to get started in India and we will relentlessly focus on raising the
bar for customer experience in India. Our vision, at Amazon, is to be Earth's
most customer centric company; to build a place where people can come to find
and discover virtually anything they want to buy online. With Amazon. In, we endeavor
to build that same destination in India by giving customers more of what they
want, vast selection, low prices, fast and reliable delivery, and a trusted and
convenient experience."
That’s not all for sure as the company had also introduced two new
seller programmes, which are named as 'Selling
on Amazon' and 'Fulfilment by
Amazon'. These new services will eventually provide users a "convenient
and trustworthy" experience while shopping online for their needs.
The company even added in its statement that the Indian retailers will
have a "robust and scalable platform" to sell their own products to
the online users easily. They don’t even have to pay the additional listing fee
for that as a good impact of the service (‘Selling on Amazon') that from now on
will be offered by the Amazon.
'Fulfilment by Amazon' will offer a well-convenient pay-as-you-go
service for the all sizes of retailers that belong to India. This will surely
help the large sum of retailers to target larger audiences for their online
campaigns. It will also provide them flexibility and chances for an expansion
of their businesses.
The statement actually quoted, “Customers
can confidently shop from sellers of all sizes on Amazon. In and benefit from a
safe and secure online ordering experience, convenient electronic payments,
Cash on Delivery, easy returns, Amazon's customer service with 24x7 support,
and a globally recognized and comprehensive purchase protection provided by
Amazon's A-to-Z guarantee.”
It has to be mentioned here that the users will be able to access Amazon. In on their mobile devices, so basically they
are allowed to shop from anywhere anytime. We shouldn’t forget that few days
back Amazon launched its ‘Appstore for Android’ in India, which means the company has started to
consider the Indian market as high potential financial zone for sure.
The US based online giant company Amazon entered the Indian market in
February 2012 with the launch of online shopping portal Junglee.Com, which is
still offering a large number of small, medium and big Indian retailers to
advertise their offering (products) for absolutely free of cost to millions of
Indians who prefer to shop online. It is also helping them to drive most
relevant and shopping-minded traffic to their stores to increase the rate of
successful conversions.
The statement added that the online marketplace Amazon. In will offer
free delivery on orders that will be fulfilled by Amazon to the customers for a
limited period of time as a promotional purpose. Another highlighting fact is
that just few days’ back Amazon’s another wing AWS unveiled Web Identity Service that is fully compatible with Facebook and
Google.
Mr. Amit Agarwal, who is currently handling the post of Vice President
and Country Manager at Amazon India, said, “Our
vision is to become a trusted and meaningful sales channel for retailers of all
sizes across India, enabling them to succeed and efficiently grow their
business online. With fulfilment by Amazon, we will do the heavy lifting for the sellers
so that they can focus on core business functions like sourcing and pricing
their products.”
